𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐬: True Morels have a seamless cap attachment where the honeycombed cap attaches directly to the stalk. Morels are also always hollow from the bottom of the stem all the way to the tip of the cap.

Golden morels are characterized by their cone-shaped caps that are honeycomb-like in texture, with a yellow to tan coloration. The stem of the mushroom is white and hollow, with a ridged texture that matches the cap.
